Katie Marie Witten, 32, of Vine Grove, KY a courageous, loving, and thoughtful woman, was born on Monday, March 25, 1991, in Snellville, GA. Her vibrant spirit and unwavering determination to live life to the fullest was a beacon of hope and inspiration to all who knew her. On Tuesday, May 2, 2023, Katie passed away in Vine Grove, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be cherished.

Katie was blessed with a loving family who always stood by her side. She is survived by her devoted husband, Doug Witten, and their four beautiful children, Ruby Kate, Jack, Mason, and Ben. She was the beloved daughter of John and Mindi Plantinga and the cherished sister of John Plantinga. Katie also leaves behind three aunts, Joyce Slawson, Judy Brawner, and Sandy Jones, as well as two nephews, Gunner and Ryatt. Her extended family and numerous friends will miss her dearly, but they will never forget the impact she had on their lives.

A woman of deep faith, Katie was a faithful member of GracePointe Baptist Church in Louisville, KY. She believed in the power of love, compassion, and helping others. Through her involvement with the church, she touched countless lives and made a real difference in her community. Her unwavering faith and commitment to her beliefs were a testament to her character and an inspiration for everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Katie's creative spirit and love for the arts were evident in her various hobbies, which included crafting, sewing, painting, and embroidery. Her passion for these pursuits brought beauty and joy to the lives of those around her. Her artistic talents were not only a source of personal fulfillment but also a way to bring people together and create lasting memories. From handmade gifts to thoughtful home decorations, Katie's creations were a reflection of her love for her family and friends.

Katie was fiercely devoted to her husband and children. Her love for her children knew no bounds, and she believed in their ability to achieve anything they set their minds to. Her legacy will live on through the lives of her family, who will no doubt carry her spirit with them as they navigate the world.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Monday, May 8, 2023 at Chism Family Funeral Home, 769 Highland Avenue, Vine Grove, KY and from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at GracePointe Baptist Church, 55415 Valley Station Road, Louisville, KY.

Funeral services for Mrs. Witten will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at GracePointe Baptist Church, 5415 Valley Station Road, Louisville, KY with Rev. Mark Bishop officiating. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at Rock Creek Cemetery, 4101 Rock Creek Rd, Clarkson, KY.
