Kenny Vowels Obituary
Kenneth “Kenny” Max Vowels, 86, of Flaherty, KY, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Baptist Health Hardin, Elizabethtown, KY, with his family by his side.
Mr. Vowels was a member of St. Martin Of Tours Catholic Church, Flaherty, KY. Kenny worked many years with his brother, Wayne, spent many years on the Flaherty Fire Department as a firefighter, first responder, and an emergency medical technician. He also worked at Flaherty School as a custodian and retired after 15 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Bertha Vowels; three brothers, Nolan Vowels, Wayne Vowels, Freddie Vowels; and one sister, Susan Haven.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Ann Vowels; two daughters, Kendra Vowels, Stacey Smith and her husband, Craig; three sons, Max Vowels and his wife, Carissa, Jarrad Vowels and his wife, Cindy, and Brett Vowels; seven grandchildren, Katey and her husband, Tony Fleenor, Jacob and his wife, Kelli Lee, Kaylee, Kenzie, Grace, Lily, Mason; four great grandchildren, Landyn, Charli, Easton, Jensyn; one sister, Diane Lancaster, and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Tuesday, April 14, 2026 and from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM, Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Chism Family Funeral Home.
A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mr. Vowels at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Flaherty, KY. Burial will follow at the St. Martin Cemetery.
