Lena Mae Harris daughter of Earl Harris Sr., and Jessie Mae Ruffin Harris was born March 23, 1948 in Pushmataha, Alabama. Lena transitioned to the Kingdom of God and into eternal rest May 6, 2024.

After graduating from Choctaw County Training School in Butler, Alabama, Lena moved to New Jersey where she obtained numerous certifications as a Medical Instruments Specialist. Lena then moved to Chicago, Illinois where she met and married Stonie Evans Sr. Lena was recruited by Mercy Hospital in Chicago, Illinois where she worked in the 80’s and 90’s, and then moved to Louisville, Kentucky where she worked at Baptist Hospital in Louisville as a Medical Instruments Specialist Supervisor. Lena worked at total of 42 years in her field, then retired to Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Lena enjoyed watching vintage westerns and action movies. Lena also loved baseball.

Lena leaves behind to cherish her memories: one son, Stonie L. Evans, Jr., one granddaughter, Lashay Evans, one grandson, Stonie L. Evans III & his wife, Kayla, a niece, LaShan R. Lewis, four siblings, Melvin Harris & his wife, Rose, Willard Harris & his wife, Mechelle, Curbie Harris & his wife, Lorie, Ada Jackson & her husband, Ronald. Lena leaves behind a host of grandkids, great grandkids, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM, Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY.

Funeral services for Ms. Harris will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, May 18, 2024 at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY. Burial will follow at the North Hardin Memorial Gardens, Radcliff, KY.
