Malcolm "Mike" Carden Obituary

CSM (RET) Malcolm "Mike" Carden, 94, of Radcliff, KY passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at the Carl M. Brashear Radcliff Veterans Center.

CSM Carden was retired from the United States Army. He was a veteran of WWII and the Vietnam War. Some of his many awards and accomplishments include: Bronze Star with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters and the Combat Infantry Badge. He was also an avid University of Kentucky fan, a Kentucky Colonel, and avid golfer. After he retired from the military, he and Jack Conroe formed C&C Homes/Painting/Realty in the Radcliff area. Then after his final retirement he & his wife enjoyed wintering in Florida.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nell Ray of Brownsville, KY; one son, John Davis Radcliff, KY; one sister, Helen Noe of Alabama.

Survivors Include:
His wife, Mary Landis Carden; five children, Patrick Davis & his wife, Rose, Marilyn Dye, Sherilyn Carden, Carole Black & her husband, Keith, Carolyn Wietecha & her husband, Tom; one brother, Wayne Noe & his wife, Faye; one sister, Glenna Marino; one sister in law, Cindy McCombs & her husband, Dwight; twelve grandchildren; several great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren, and a host of extended family & friends. He also held a special place in his heart for the staff at Radcliff Veterans Center.   

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 1:30 PM, Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY.

Funeral services for Mr. Carden will be held at 1:30 PM, Thursday, June 24, 2021 at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY with Chaplain Dean Whitaker officiating. Burial will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY with military honors.
