Marie Deveney Markham

Marie Deveney Markham, 99, of Vine Grove, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Baptist Health Hardin, Elizabethtown, KY.
 
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, she was an army Veteran of World War II.
 
Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was preceded in death by her husband John (Dick) Markham, a native of Williamsville, Missouri. Also, her father, Harry Deveney, and mother, Irene Deveney, four brothers: William Deveney, Charles Deveney, Harry Deveney and, Patrick Deveney, along with her sister Ruth Kelley, all of Cleveland, Ohio.
 
Marie is survived by her children: Mary Burks (husband, Kelly) of Vine Grove, Kentucky; James “Jim” Markham (wife, Janice) of Vine Grove, Kentucky; Jerry Markham (wife, Marcia) of Naples, Florida; Linda Markham of Louisville, Kentucky; Joseph “Joe” Markham (wife, Anne) of Lexington, Kentucky and Patrick “Pat” Markham (wife, Jenny) of Louisville, Kentucky.
 
Marie is also survived by eight grandchildren: Tammy Jo Oliphant (husband, Jason) of Vine Grove, Kentucky; Joshua Markham of Lexington, Kentucky; Katie Marie Markham of New York City, New York; Deveney Mae Markham of Louisville, Kentucky; Spencer Clark Markham of Vine Grove, Kentucky; Sean Markham (wife, Beth) of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina; Mollie Markham of Washington, D.C.; Lindsey Near (husband, Richard) of Camp Lejeune, NC; and one great-grandchild Riley Irene Burks of Vine Grove, Kentucky.
 
She is also survived by her sister, Rita Irene Deveney, and brother, Vincent Deveney both from Cleveland, Ohio.
 
Her remains were cremated with interment in the Vine Grove Cemetery next to her husband, John.
