Melanee Dawn Douglas, of Radcliff, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at the age of 52. She was born on Wednesday, June 9, 1971, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to James Edward Douglas and Shari Sue Bowker. Throughout her life, Melanee was a beacon of love, selflessness, and spirit, qualities that endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Melanee’s family was paramount to her, and her love for them was boundless. She is survived by her two beloved children, Brittany Handy (Dondre) and Vincent Sunseri, both of Radcliff, KY. Her love extended to her four grandchildren, Dominic Sunseri, Brayden Sunseri, Elijah Handy, and Joslyn Handy, who were the joy of her life. She cherished every moment spent with them. Melanee is also survived by her father, James Edward Douglas of Cincinnati, OH, her mother, Shari Sue Bowker of St. Louis, MI, and her four siblings, Jamee Moffet, Amanda Bowker, Sonjia Gallardo, Tory Bowker (Ashley), all of Michigan. She was preceded in death by her brother, Stephen Bowker. Melanee leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will forever remember her loving spirit.
Melanee was a dedicated worker and a familiar face at the Ross Department Store where she served as a retail associate. In her free time, Melanee had a passion for rock music. It was one of the many ways she connected with those around her.
Above all, Melanee was loving. Her selfless nature was evident in every interaction. She had a knack for making people feel seen and valued, and her spirited personality was contagious. Her laughter was a melody that will echo in the hearts of those who loved her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 8, 2023 at the Plainfield Township Hall, Hale, MI.
