Mike Ploude Sr.

Michael Ploude Sr, 66, of Vine Grove passed away Saturday, October 14, 2023 at home in the presence of his loving family. He was born on Monday, December 17, 1956, in Fall River, Massachusetts, the son of the late Napoleon A. Ploude and Alice M. (Damas) Ploude. Mike will be remembered as a courageous, selfless, and handy man who touched the lives of many.

Mike was predeceased by his brother Albert Ploude and nephew David Ploude Jr. He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Gloria Ann (Irons) Ploude; his children Cynthia Clan, Amy Mayberry (Robert Jr.), and Michael Ploude Jr. (Amanda Bentley); and his eight grandchildren, Alivia (Jordan), Kristopher, Zachary, Allison, Timothy, Dylan, Joshua, and Brooklyn. He was also the proud great-grandfather of Carson. Mike leaves behind two brothers, David and John Ploude, and seven sisters, Marge Carpenter, Shirley Haggerty, Patricia Pausek, Janice Snider, Joan Hartwick, Mary Lou Williams, and Maureen LaGrange. Numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Mike was a proud veteran of the United States Army. After his military career, Mike channeled his handy skills into a successful business, Mike and Sons Classic Siding Inc., which he started with his son and grandsons. His work ethic was unparalleled, and he instilled in his family the importance of doing a job well, encapsulated by his motto, “Do it right or don’t do it at all!” This legacy of hard work and commitment to excellence is carried on by his children and grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM, Sunday, October 22, 2023 and from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, Monday, October 23, 2023 at Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY.

Funeral services for Mr. Ploude will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, October 23, 2023 at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home with Rev. Ben Brown officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY.
