Myron Morgan Obituary

Myron Louis “Mickey” Morgan, 78, of Flaherty, KY passed away Sunday, May 24, 2026 at Baptist Health Hardin, Elizabethtown, KY.

CW3 Morgan was a veteran of the Vietnam War and retired from the United States Army with 20 years of service. He also worked for Honeywell Aerospace as a field service engineer supporting the Abram MI tank with the US Army; his memberships include Lifetime member of the V.F.W. and he was a Kentucky Colonel.  Mickey was known as everyone’s Papaw and was the giver of the best hugs.  

He was preceded in death by a son Russ Morgan; his parents, Lee & Ida Belden Morgan; a son in law, Jimmy Dial; two brothers, George Morgan, Palmer Morgan; and an infant sister, Joyce Joan Morgan.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Morgan of Flaherty, KY, and two daughters, Cheryl Dial (Brian Spencer) of Flaherty, KY, and Michelle Bell and her husband, Jeff, of Rineyville, KY. In addition, he leaves behind ten grandchildren, Kristin Benham (Adam), Lauren Collins (John Horn), Michael Dial (Kaitlyn), Brittnee Keith (Dakota), Blake Morgan, Brenton Sander, Ayla Morgan, Decon Spencer, Aaron Bell, Ryan Bell; five great-grandchildren, Adalyn, Brooks, Gracie, Everle, Emma-Kate; and a host of extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM, Monday, June 1, 2026 at Chism Family Funeral Home. 

Funeral services for Mr. Morgan will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, June 1, 2026 at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the St. Martin Cemetery, Flaherty, KY with military honors.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Hosparus of Central Kentucky.
