Natividad "Ski" Escobedo Obituary

Natividad Escobedo (Ski), 94, of Radcliff, K passed away peacefully on Wednesday, 21 May 2025. He was born on Monday, 8 September 1930, in Alamo, TX to Martin & Valentina Escobedo.

He is preceded in death by both parents; first wife, Ercilia Escobedo; a daughter, Elizabeth; two sons, Robert & Ron; and son-in-law, David Ermi. 

He is survived by his wife, Hope Escobedo; and her children, a son, Ron; and daughter Lindy (Tim). His surviving children are Nora Brandon (Phillip); Diane Ermi; and daughter-in-law, Suzanne Escobedo. He has four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

He served honorably in the US Army from October 1951 - April 1981. He served four combat tours: one in Korea, and three tours in Vietnam. He received numerous awards to include: Army of Occupation Medal, 3 Vietnam Service Medals, 9 Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, 2 Army Commendation Medals, Combat Infantry Badge, 2 Bronze Star Medals (One for Valor), Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Silver Star, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm Unit Citation, 3 Purple Hearts, Meritorious Service Medal, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Bronze Star. After completing 30 years of service, he worked 18 years as writer instructor for the Fort Knox Armor School. Ski was a member of the Fort Knox Masonic Lodge #919 in Radcliff, Ky. He was an avid golfer, reader and had a passion for history and physical fitness. He also attended Elizabethtown Community and Technical College.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, 28 May from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM and Thursday, 29 May from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Chism Family Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, 29 May at 11:00 AM at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home. A committal service with full military honors will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, KY.
