Pam (Short) Schapiro

Pamela Gwyn Short Schapiro, 69, of Elizabethtown, KY passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022 at her residence.

Ms. Schapiro was a member of Severns Valley Baptist Church, Elizabethtown, KY. She retired as a school teacher at Hardin County Day Treatment (Department of Juvenile Justice) where she was well respected & admired by all her students. In her spare time she volunteered for Homeless Intervention Services, Elizabethtown, KY.

She was preceded in death by her father, Arvil Short; one brother, Rob Short; one sister, Dorane Horner; and her aunt Cush.

Survivors include: Two children, Brad Schapiro & his wife, Melissa, Heather Schapiro; a daughter in Christ, LaTara Woods; her mother, Rebecca Miller Short; four grandchildren, Coleman Combs, Jacob Combs, Jenna Combs, Jackson Schapiro; one great granddaughter, Mia Combs; one brother, Rick Short & his wife, Andrea; a sister-in-law, Edrya Short; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family & friends.

Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM, Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Severns Valley Baptist Church, 1100 Ring Road, Elizabethtown, KY (Instead of having memorial contributions the family is requesting for flowers to be sent to Severns Valley Baptist Church because Ms. Schapiro loved flowers so much).

A Celebration of Life service for Ms. Schapiro will be held at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Severns Valley Baptist Church, 1100 Ring Road, Elizabethtown, KY.

A graveside service will be held at 11:30 AM, Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Evergreen Cemetery, 4623 Preston Highway, Louisville, KY.
