Patrick J. Delaney

Patrick J. Delaney, 77, of Flaherty, KY passed away Sunday, June 13, 2021 at the University of Louisville Hospital.

Mr. Delaney was a member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Flaherty, KY. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served in the United States Army. He was a member of Ancient Order of Hibernians, American Legion Post #113, Elizabethtown, KY and retired from Civil Service, Fort Knox, KY.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie A. “Margie” Delaney; one son, Patrick J. Delaney, Jr.; one sister, Geraldine McGuigan, and one brother, James Delaney.

His survivors include two children, Michael Delaney & his wife, Belinda, Nicole Izzi & her husband, Nick; eight grandchildren, Michael, Brayden, Matthew, Bradley, Molly, Maggie, Caleb, Andrew; nine siblings, Ann Davis, Bernice Roe, Veronica Dube, Tom Delaney, Virginia Miles, Theresa Miller, Mary Ann Cooke, Michael Delaney, Joseph Delaney; a special friend, Mary Sue Foushee; and a host of nieces, nephew, extended family & friends.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, June 18, 2021 and from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM, Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM, Friday at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Delaney will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 19, 2021 at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Flaherty, KY with Rev. Jeff Hopper officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors.
