SGM (Ret) Ralph E. Williams Jr, 87, of Radcliff, KY, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2025, at his residence with his family by his side.

SGM Williams served his country first in the United States Marine Corps and later served over 30 years in the United States Army, retiring in 1989. His 35-year military career was distinguished by two tours in Vietnam, reflecting his deep-seated commitment to his fellow soldiers and nation.  SGM Williams received the Purple Heart for his actions during the Vietnam War and a Legion of Merit for his selfless, dedicated service to the nation. Upon his retirement, he found a new way to serve his community through his work as a picture framer at Fort Knox, KY. When he wasn't working, SGM Williams loved traveling the country and watching Westerns with his wife, Ruth.

SGM Williams was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Sr. and Katherine (Jones) Williams, his sister Barbara (Willams) Shannon, and his Aunt Mary Lou Harris, who grew up with him and his sister.

His survivors include his loving wife, Ruth Williams, his children Lawrence Williams (Karen), Ralph E. Williams III (Deborah), Deborah T. Williams, Debra L. Lang, Jamie L. Williams, Ralph A. Williams (Tina), Benita Moreno-Rivera, Jorge Moreno-Rivera  Jr., Ricardo Moreno-Rivera (Lisa), and Carmen Moreno-Rivera (Dee), and a host of grandchildren, great grand children, nieces, and nephews.  

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM, Friday, March 14, 2025, at Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY.

Funeral services for SGM Williams will be held at 12:00 PM, Friday, March 14, 2025, at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY. Burial with military honors will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY.

Repast will be held from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Vine Grove VFW, 266 Briggs Ln, Vine Grove, KY.
