Richard Bruce Hayes

Richard Bruce Hayes, 76, of Radcliff, KY passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Baptist Health Hardin, Elizabethtown, KY with his family by his side.

Richard Bruce Hayes was born to Martha and Sidney Hayes on June 12, 1946. He departed this life on April 18, 2023. Richard was a Sergent in the US Army where he traveled the world and worked as a mechanic. Richard retired from the Army and worked as a truck driver. As a truck driver, he continued to travel and spend time with family and friends. He loved to attend the family reunions, reminding us how important it was to be with your family. 

Richard was a great husband, dad, son, brother, uncle, and grandfather. He was loved by many and never met a stranger. Richard enjoyed driving his truck, traveling, playing the lottery, and spending time with his family. Richard is preceded in death by his parents Martha and Sidney Hayes, and his brothers Charles, Michael, James, George, Pete, and Gregory. He is survived by his wife Eddie Hayes; children, Richard and wife Joy, Stephanie, Steven, Cassandra, and Antoinette; grandchildren Ricky, Jabril, Indyha, Jacquari, Steven, Alazia, Riley, Tyiesha, Jordan, Tiana, Ronald; siblings Paulette and Stephen and a host of relatives and close friends. 

Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM, Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY.

Funeral services with military honors will be held for Mr. Hayes at 6:00 PM, Saturday, April 29, 2023 at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY.

A private burial will be at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY.
