Richard Walton

Richard Walton, 87, Vine Grove, KY passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Baptist Health Hardin, Elizabethtown, KY.

Mr. Walton retired as a Sergeant Major from the United States Army and a veteran of the Vietnam War. His military awards include the Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster, Purple Heart, and Combat Infantryman’s Badge. His memberships include Vine Grove United Methodist Church, Camp Knox Masonic Lodge #919, Radcliff, KY, VFW Post #10281, Vine Grove, KY, and American Legion Post #113, Elizabethtown, KY.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Emelie Walton; one son, Richard Walton Jr.; twin daughters, Patti & Loretta Walton.

Mr. Walton is survived by one daughter, Joanne Edwards & her husband, Darrell of Vine Grove, KY; three sons, Thomas Walton & his wife Wanda of Los Lunas, NM, Richard E. Walton & his wife Lisa of Marion, TX; Steven C. Walton of Vine Grove, KY; honorary daughter Monica E. Walton of Brandon, MS; ten grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Monday, April 24, 2023 and from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY.

Funeral Services for Mr. Walton will be held at 11:30 AM, Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY with Rev. Dan Paddack officiating. Burial will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY with military honors.
