Richard & Carron Grady Obituary
Richard William “Red” Grady, age 89, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2021, at Baptist Health Hardin. Carron Marie Grady, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Baptist Health Hardin. Both were of Big Springs, KY.
Mr. Grady was a veteran of the United States Navy. His memberships included Elks USA, Lions Club, and American Legion Post #113, Elizabethtown, KY.
Mrs. Grady was a resident of Quartz Hill, CA, for many years before relocating to Big Springs, KY. She worked as a nurse at Antelope Valley Hopstial, Lancaster City Hospital, and Mira Loma Detention Center Hospital in Lancaster, CA. She then worked as a retail clerk for the Alpha Beta grocery store chain in California. Continuing her retail career, she began working for the Walmart Corporation in Lancaster, CA. She subsequently transferred to the Walmart in Radcliff, KY. Throughout her adult life she worked as a farmer, nurse, and owned a craft store. Most recently, she operated a craft booth at The Peddlers Mall in Leitchfield, KY, selling her homemade crafts.
She was born in Caliente, Nevada, and grew up in Pioche and Ely, Nevada. During her childhood, she was involved in Girl Scouts, Civil Air Patrol and Band. As an adult, she helped her sons in the Indian Guide Scouting Program of YMCA, and has been a lifelong member of the Lions Club. As a member of the Lions Club, she has served in multiple roles and received National recognition for her efforts. Carron had a lifelong love of arts, crafts, sewing, gardening, canning, and cooking.
She was preceeded in death by her husband of thirty years, Richard Grady; her father, Robert Sylvester Carman; her mother, Betty Florine (Dunlap) Carman; and her sister, Connie Lynn (Carman) Munger.
Carron is survived by her sons, Steven Glenn Williams of Tonopah, NV, Dwayne Gary Williams of Tonopah, NV, James Charles (Jim) & Mary Williams of Flaherty, KY, and Robert Scott & Kallie Williams of Big Springs, KY; thirteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Richard is survived by his three daughters, several grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
Visitation/Celebration of Life will be Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Chism Family Funeral Home in Vine Grove, KY.
Funeral services for Carron and Richard will be at 12:00 PM on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home in Vine Grove, KY.
Internment with military honors will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, KY.
