Rick Parks

Rick E. Parks, 68, Vine Grove, left this world peacefully at home surrounded by his family and friends on Friday, January 1, 2021.

Mr. Parks was born March 23,1952 in Adams County Ohio to the late Virgil Parks and Ruth Stricklett.

Rick was a millwright and fabricator by trade. As a young man he developed a love for motorcycles, and living life in the fast lane. He could build a Harley Davidson better than most, and built many great friendships along the way.

As life slowed down Rick became the best papaw to his grandchildren.The one that you could go to for any reason. He could build or fix anything placed in front of him. Rick loved a good challenge. Rick had the brightest blue eyes that would immediately catch a strangers attention. He was the king of Philosophy, and if he didn’t know the answer to a question he would quickly figure it out. He enjoyed spending time gardening with his wife, and lounging around the pool. Ricks quick wit & sarcasm are unmatched and will be forever be missed by those who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil Parks; his mother, Ruth (Pete) Young; two nephews, Nelson Young, Michael Young; and a niece, Mia Deckard.

Rick is survived by his wife, Rhonda Parks of Vine Grove, KY; one daughter, Lisa of Ohio; one son, Jeremy Parks of Kentucky; two sister’s, Connie Wills of Kingsport, TN, Brenda Beville of Vine Grove, KY; one brother, Steve Parks of Peebles, OH; three added blessings to his life, Jennifer (Jamie) Wood of Harpster, OH, Miranda (Emanuel) Santos, Samira (Jay) Burrows both of Vine Grove, KY; many grandchildren; two great grandchildren; his favorite cat Sophia; and his Shovelhead Matilda.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Monday and from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM, Tuesday at Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY.

Funeral services for Mr. Parks will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY with Pastor Terry Linscott officiating. Rick will have one final motorcycle ride to the crematory following the service.
