Ronnie Downs

William Ronald "Ronnie" Downs, 74, of Vine Grove, KY, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Born on Monday, April 25, 1949, in Holy Cross, Kentucky, Ronnie was a selfless, gentle, and generous soul who touched the lives of those who surrounded him.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his father, William O. Downs, Jr., and a brother, Kenny Downs.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Judy Downs; four children, William "Paul" Downs (Alexandra), Rebecca Downs (Kris Froman), Ron Downs (Renee), Cyndi Downs; five grandchildren, Aleeyah (Kacey), Derek, Emily, Justin, Breeman; several great-grandchildren; his mother, Dolores Downs; six siblings, Brenda Downs, Joey Downs, Sharon Blake, Ricky Downs, Denise White, Joan Serravalle; and a host of extended family and friends.

Throughout his life, Ronnie was a simple man who cherished his family above all else. His love for his wife, children, and grandchildren was immeasurable, as he always put their needs and happiness before his own. He was a constant source of support and encouragement for those he loved.

Ronnie's interests were uncomplicated, yet meaningful. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as sitting on his front porch with a glass of sweet tea or a cold Coca-Cola in hand, taking in the beauty of the mountain view. His infectious happiness and ever-present smile could brighten even the darkest time.

Visitation for Mr. Downs will be from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM, Sunday, May 21, 2023 at Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY.
