Russell Alvey Sr, 70, of Radcliff, KY passed away Saturday, October 11, 2025 at the Hosparus Inpatient Care Center, Louisville, KY.

 

Mr. Alvey retired from Vulcan Materials where he dedicated years of hard work and commitment. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. Russell was an avid Nascar fan who also enjoyed watching boxing. Gardening and hunting were also some of Russell’s other joys.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert & Cora Alvey; two brothers, Herbert Alvey Jr and Phillip Alvey.

 

Mr. Alvey is survived by four children, Russell Alvey Jr, Lori Beth Alvey, Sara Elizabeth Wheatley, Nathan Foster; his longtime companion, Karen Ann Fuertsch; five grandchildren, Sage Alvey, Mydnight Allerano, Samuel Alvey, Douglas Dowell Jr, Devin Wheatley; three great grandchildren, Elias, Emerald, Kinsley; four siblings, Trisha, Charles, Bradley, Linda; and a host of extended family & friends.

 

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday, October 16, 2025 and from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM, Friday, October 17, 2025 at Chism Family Funeral Home.

 

Funeral services for Mr. Alvey will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, October 17, 2025 at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home with Brother Ben Underhill officiating. Burial will follow in the North Hardin Memorial Gardens, Radcliff, KY.
