Sheila Kay "Nana" (Inabnitt) Hargis, 73, born on April 18, 1951 in Somerset, KY, passed peacefully on Aug 24, 2024 at her home surrounded by family in Elizabethtown, KY.
She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father Jessie and Evan Burdine, her brother Roger Dale Inabnitt, and twin brother Barry Kent Inabnitt, also long time best friend, Sharon Arthur.
She is survived by her son, Dwain (Lorie) Hargis of Elizabethtown KY, long-time companion, Clifton Hargis of Elizabethtown KY, 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, her sister Kathy (Dean) Houseman of Whiteland, IN, brothers Jackie (Betsy) Inabnitt of Greenwood, IN, Dennis (Diane) Burdine of Franklin, IN and Kevin Burdine of Greenwood, IN, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was a machinest at Franklin Power Products for 12 years then transitioned her career to become a nail technician at My Pampering Place for 20 years. She was a member of College Heights Church in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.
She enjoyed quality time spent with family and friends, she loved Colts football, tending to flowers, and was an avid fan of Allan Jackson.
Nana was known by many for her generosity and loving nature.
A service will be held Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 2:00PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center in Franklin, IN with visitation from 10:00 AM until service time. The service will be livestreamed at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/sheilahargis.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at College Heights Church in Elizabethtown, KY on September 21, 2024 at 3 pm.
