Sounthala “Soun” Phoutharansy, 53, of Vine Grove, KY passed away Friday, January 24, 2025 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington, KY.

Soun dedicated many years of his life as a driver for UPS, where he was known for his reliable work ethic and friendly demeanor. Above all, Soun treasured the time he spent with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nou Deang and Kong Seng Phoutharansy.

Survivors include three children, Tyler Phoutharansy, Chloe Phoutharansy, Brody Snyder; his fiancee, Nary Bun; fourteen siblings, Phouvanh (Thong Kham) Phoutharansy of Georgia, Phouthong Phoutharansy of Vine Grove, Phouvieng (Amy) Phoutharansy of Rineyville, Phouvong Phoutharansy of Elizabethtown, Phoukhong Phoutharansy of California, Phoukhao (Rassamy) Phoutharansy of Vine Grove, Phouveune (Lamngeun) Lamngeun of Tennessee, Phouvang (Soukdaovone) Phanbandith of Tennessee, Phouwa (Vyvonne) Phoutharansy of Tennessee, Soutsada (Nouphone) Bouakham of Tennessee, Ketsana (RA) Phoutharansy of Elizabethtown, Phanomphone (Alicia) Phoutharansy of Radcliff, Joseph Cecil of Elizabethtown, Sone Ramangkune of Vine Grove; twenty-eight nieces & nephews, Kevin Phoutharansy, John Phoutharansy, Dawn Phoutharansy, Dr. Vilayvanh Saysoukha, Sonny Phanbandith, Vieng, Jr. Phoutharansy, Varly Lamngeun, Phetsada Saysoukha, Leslie Lamngeun-Scales , Michael Phoutharansy, Daniel Phoutharansy, Tiffany Phanbandith, May Phoutharansy, Joshua Phoutharansy, Alexandra Phoutharansy, Brandon Phoutharansy, Kesada Phoutharansy, Sendy Phanbandith, Gingdao Bouakham, Bountao Bouakham, Phousamming Phoutharansy, Deanna Phoutharansy, Ashli Phoutharansy, Phoulitat Phoutharansy, Lucas Phoutharansy, Aubree Phoutharansy, Ava Phoutharansy, Kesarin Phoutharansy; and the mother of his children, Tracy Phoutharansy; and a host of extended family & friends.

Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Friday, January 31, 2025.

Funeral services for Mr. Phoutharansy will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 1, 2025 at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY. Burial will follow at the North Hardin Memorial Gardens, Radcliff, KY
