Sue McIntyre Obituary

Sue Ann Reed McIntyre, 84, of Vine Grove, died Saturday, June 11, 2022.
 
She was born August 29, 1937, in Buffalo, Kentucky. She was a member of Valley View Baptist Church and was a former member of Vine Grove Baptist Church. She served both churches with joy wherever there was a need.
 
She retired from the Hardin County School system after working at James T. Alton and Vine Grove Elementary for nearly 20 years.
 
She graduated from Buffalo High School in 1955.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chrissie and Harlan Reed, her sister, Imogene Smith and her brother, Clifford Reed. She was the devoted and faithful wife to her husband of 53 years, Alfred James McIntyre, who preceded her in death in 2011.
 
She is survived by her daughters who loved her dearly, Beth Ann McIntyre Turpin (Craig) of Louisville Kentucky and Amy James McIntyre LeVan (Michael) of Nicholasville, Kentucky. She is also survived by her grandchildren who were the joy of her life - Neal McIntyre Turpin (Sara); Emma Kate Heading (Chris), of Louisville and Garret James LeVan of Nicholasville.
 
In addition to her daughters and grandchildren, she is survived by her great grandchildren whom she cherished - Maggie Belle Heading; Luke Daniel Turpin; Deacon McIntyre Heading and Nora Elizabeth Turpin all of Louisville. She is survived by her sister, Bonnie Hibbs of Versailles, Kentucky as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her precious dog, Alfie, who kept her company for the past 10 years.
 
The funeral is at 3:00 PM, Saturday, June 18 at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home in Vine Grove with the Rev. Sara Turpin; Rev Chris Heading and Rev. Mark Powell officiating. Burial will follow at Vine Grove Cemetery.
 
Visitation is from 12:00 PM until 3:00 PM, Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY.
 
Memorial contributions may be made to Valley View Baptist Church.
 
There are no words to express the love and loss felt by her family at this time but they count it as joy to have the assurance of her salvation and Christ's promise to see her again. ”The Lord has done great things for us and we are filled with joy”. Psalm 126:3
