Ted Douglas Obituary

Theodore E. Douglas (92) of Elizabethtown Ky went to his Heavenly Father on 2 June 2021.

Ted was born on 6 Dec 1928 in Warren, Ohio. He was the son of the Late John and Isophene Douglas of Warren, Ohio. On 1 July 1950, he was united in marriage to Mary Dorsey and was married for 68 till her death in 2018.

In 1951 he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He went to Officer Candidate School and graduated as a 2nd Lieutenant. He was then deployed to the Division Artillery unit as an aerial forward observer during the Korean War. He received the Purple Heart award when his helicopter was shot down returning from a mission. He was an avid golfer his whole life and was interviewed by Sports Illustrated because he had 2 hole in ones right handed and 1 hole in one left handed. He will always be remembered by his family as a dedicated Christian man that served God from the age of 10 till his death. He was on the First Church of God, Anderson, church board for over 25 years, he sang in the choir and sang specials whenever requested. 

He was preceded in death of immediate family members was his Mother and Father, wife Mary, brother Scott, sisters, Dorthy and Shirley.

Survivors include  a son, Terry and his wife Jackie. Grand daughters Danielle and her husband James, Brienne and her husband Jarrod; several great grand children; and 1 great great grandson.

A private memorial service for the family will be held  just for family at the First Church of the Nazarene in Elizabethtown, at a future date.
