Vernon Duane Aleshire Obituary
Vernon D. Aleshire, 65, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky was lifted in an instant from this earthly life to a new life in glory on June 3, 2025.
Vern was a U.S. Army veteran, former Fleet Service Supervisor at the Lansing, Michigan Board of Water and Light, Owner Operator of Heartland Automotive in Radcliff, Kentucky, an enthusiastic member of Hardin County Adventure Club and the Kentucky Mountain Bike Association, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a faithful servant of Jesus Christ.
Vern was born with a special passion for anything on wheels- he loved cars, motorcycles, and maybe most of all, bicycles. If it had wheels he could ride it, jump it, or pop a wheelie on it! He not only could ride any type of wheels, he could fix it if it broke and make it shine like new. He loved everything with wheels so much he was always ready to buy, sell, or trade for more. He not only fixed his own wheels, he fixed hundreds of others over his career.
Vern’s business was not just about fixing cars, he took the time to listen and build relationships. He enjoyed sharing a good cup of coffee and an even better story. He loved his customers like family. He loved his biking friends like brothers. His sons were his greatest treasure. His grandchildren were his deepest delight. His wife, Jennifer, from the very first glance was his whole heart, his closest friend, his one and only. Friendship built their home, love made it grow with those born to them and those chosen by them.
May he live on in the memories of his wife, Jennifer, son Kevin, son Jesse and daughter-in-law Tiffany, grandchildren Ethan, Jocelyn, Lyla, Elliot and Natalie, mother-in-law, Patricia Fitzgerald, beloved doodles, Ruby Jean, Gracie; and all who loved him.
