Vernon Lee Burchett

Vernon Lee Burchett, 87, of Vine Grove, KY peacefully departed this life on November 3, 2023 at Baptist Health Hardin, Elizabethtown, KY. Born in the town of Mount Auburn, Illinois, on April 30, 1936, Vernon was a man defined by his selflessness, generosity, and kindness.

Professionally, Vernon was a hardworking man who spent his career in maintenance and farming. His work ethic was an inspiration to those who knew him, a testament to his belief in the value of honest labor and the satisfaction of a job well done. As a member of the United States Trotting Association, Vernon found joy in the simple pleasure of harnessing horses and the skill involved in their training and care. Vernon was also a devoted fan of NASCAR, his enthusiasm for the sport being a constant throughout his life.

Vernon is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Sharon Burchett, seven children, JoAnn Lawson, Paula Givons, Relda McConnell, Vernon Burchett Jr., Wendy Tilley, April Buzzard, and Brandy Burchett, four sisters, three brothers, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends.

Cremation was chosen by the family.
