William Robert "Wild Bill" Southall, Jr., 68, of Vine Grove, KY (Meade County), formerly of Ripley, WV, passed away Friday, July 19, 2024 at Baptist Health Hardin, Elizabethtown, KY following an extended illness.

William was a graduate of Ripley High School Class of 1975. He proudly served his country for twenty years in the United States Army, retiring with the rank of Staff Sergeant. Following his military service, William graduated from McKendree College with a degree in Information Technology. After several private industry positions, he returned to Fort Knox as a civilian IT specialist.  William was active in his local community.  He was a member of VFW Post 10281 in Vine Grove, Masonic Lodge 868 in Irvington, and the Kosair Shrine of Louisville. Additionally, he served as a volunteer with Boy Scout Troop 360, Fort Knox.

Left to honor his memory are his wife Lorrie and sons Aaron Ross and James Southall and grandchildren Kayla and Dante Ross and Evelynn Bond. He is also survived by his sister Stephanie (Kevin) Casto. William was preceded in death by his parents Mary and William Southall, Sr. and his three brothers David, Randall, and Timothy.

Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM, Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY.

A funeral service with military honors will be for Mr. Southall at 4:00 PM, Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at the chapel of Chism Family Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY with Brother Ben Underhill officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
