Dr. Hand, where do I start, you were such a kind soul to me and would never make me feel unhappy, always there to talk to, always happy and I miss you, you were the best doctor (retired) that I have ever taken care of at a Nursing facility, I'll always have you in my prayers. Severely missed

To see Dr. Hand's wonderful smiling face brings back many childhood memories of sitting in his office under his care. My mother and father, Sherman and O'Vera Vance, depended on him to solve all big and small medical problems that were possible to afflict five growing children. I just wanted you to know how much he meant to us all. When I passed his home I always just wanted to see him one more time. He was so special. With love and condolences, Margie Vance Gregoriades

Linda, I was at Robinbrooke awhile back and happened to see your Dad being wheeled out to get on the bus. We recognized each other and he asked me to come back and visit him. I'm so glad that I did and, right after that, I heard he had been transferred to Kinsington. We had such a nice visit talking about him taking care of me and us being KD's together at UK. He was just a sharp as ever. I was frequently sick as a child - he came out to the house all the way to Flaherty. If I'd saved all the comic books Mom bought me from the drugstore to read in his waiting room, I'd be a rich woman today! Plus, I told him the story of him saying to the hospital staff before they put me under to remove my tonsils that I was his "pride and joy" and mom saying when I told her that, that he should have said "bread and butter" ---- he got a laugh out of that, since we'd never told him she'd said that. Just wanted to tell you, as I'm sure you know, that he was a blessing to the whole community!

Dr Hand will be missed by many, all of our patients and staff really enjoyed talking to him when he came in for treatment. There was never a dull moment when he entered the building. Thank you for allowing us to care for your Dad.
